Lada Granta to produce cars to be controlled from a smartphone come next year
Next year in LADA Granta cars there will be the possibility of remote control and monitoring using the LADA Connect system developed by the Intelligent Driving Laboratory. Through a smartphone or computer, users can start the engine, open doors, turn on lights and much more.
Among other features of the platform – tracking the location and condition of the car, including mileage, fuel level, battery charge and other parameters. According to available data, the LADA Connect system will be installed by default in the Granta luxury model. Buyers of the base version will be able to order this option additionally. In 2018, AvtoVAZ plans to produce about 100,000 vehicles with the possibility of remote control. It is reported that the cost of Granta with support for LADA Connect will be 10,000 rubles more than without this system.
Familiar with the situation sources say that it was originally planned to equip LADA Connect models of Vesta and Xray families, but studies have shown that to realize this idea in Granta is much cheaper and faster. Also in the report it is said that LADA Connect will appear in Vesta, Xray and other LADA models not earlier than 2019.
