Intel Has Released a Custom SSD Optane Based on 3D XPoint Memory
Intel introduced the first ultrafast solid-state drives Optane based on 3D XPoint memory for the user segment of PCs and workstations.
The new Optane 900P series features low latency and high speed random reading and writing, so it is suitable for 3D rendering, complex simulations and other professional tasks.
According to the manufacturer, the novelties leave behind competitors on the basis of NAND-memory for speed in 4 times, and on durability – in 22 times.
“The Intel Optane 900P series will bring for the first time performance level of workstations and maximum reliability of Optane technology in the class of custom SSDs.
We are confident that buyers will find ways to appreciate all the advantages of discs and create wonderful things, “said Intel Marketing Director Bill Leschinsky.
“We are eager to see all the opportunities that software developers will open to offer users new ways of interacting with large amounts of data and complex workloads.”
Intel will release new SSD-disks of 280 GB and 480 GB in form factor PCIe and U.2 (SFF-8639).
The younger model is estimated at $ 389.99, and the price of a 480-gigabyte drive is $ 599.
To each SSD the manufacturer will present an exclusive ship in Saber Raven and the game Star Citizen.
