New iPhone 8 and 8 Plus with Lower Battery compared to iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
The new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus feature support for Qi wireless charging and the ability to quickly charge when using power adapters from the iPad or MacBook. At the same time, during the presentation, Apple did not say a word about the battery capacity or the operating time of new smartphones. The company only said that the new frameless iPhone X works for 2 hours longer than the iPhone 7. As it turned out, the battery capacity in the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus has been reduced compared to the previous generation.
Batteries of new iPhone in comparison with old models decreased
After certification of the new iPhone in the Chinese agency TENAA, some technical characteristics of smartphones, including the capacity of the battery, became known. It was lower than last year’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
- iPhone 6 – 1 810 mAh;
- iPhone 6 Plus – 2 915 mAh.
- iPhone 6S – 1 715 mAh;
- iPhone 6S Plus – 2 750 mAh;
- iPhone 7 – 1 960 mAh;
- iPhone 7 Plus – 2 900 mAh;
- iPhone 8 – 1 821 mAh;
- iPhone 8 Plus – 2 675 mAh.
Despite this, Apple claims that the autonomy of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus remained at the level of last year’s models. This was achieved by using a new six-core processor Apple A11 Bionic.
How things really are with the autonomy of new smartphones – time will tell.
