Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) Reportedly Launched

The Smartphone Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) that has been in rumours and leaks for the past few weeks, appears to have been launched quietly by the South Korean tech giant in Dubai.

Accourding to gadgets, the smartphone was on for sale for AED 499 (roughly $134.83) at a Jumbo Electronics showroom as shown in an image shared by a user (via GSMArena). The handset is not yet listed on the retailer’s website or on the company website.

The Gold colour version of Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and with a 4.5-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) resolution Super Amoled display. It features a quad-core 1.3GHz processor (unspecified) under-the-hood, with 1GB RAM. Other features mentioned for the handset are 8GB inbuilt storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2050mAh battery.

On the camera front, the Galaxy J1 (2016) is said to feature a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front facing camera – the same as the Galaxy J1. Although the company has not yet officially launched the smartphone, the handset’s appearance in physical retail stores is clearly an indication that it will launch soon.
